diy dressing up: halloween

I've been rather remiss at keeping up my little blogette recently, but sometimes real life has to take over. Anyone who knows me well, will know that the start of November is The Busiest Time Of Year chez eskimo*rose. School hols, Halloween, Bonfire night, both my girls' birthdays and my hubby's birthday (poor thing, he usually gets his postponed!), not to mention it being my busiest time for work. I can barely keep my head above water, 'aaaaah, poor girl', I hear you say!

But at last I can just about see the light at the end of the tunnel (big sigh of relief...), so thought I'd pop on and up date you with some pics. First a rather belated look back at our halloween fun. The little minx stayed at home with daddy as she refused, in her own very vociferous way, to go anywhere near her cute little witchy outfit. I, however, did join in ... much to my son's dismay ... when he saw my green face he almost refused to come trick-or-treating with me - hehe, whoever knew embarrassing your kids could be so much fun!

As usual our dressing up was all a bit last minute, we arrived home from visiting my mum about 2 hours before trick-or-treating, still with no costumes ... It's amazing what you can achieve when under pressure! A quick sniff around the house and we came up with an old shirt and trousers that underwent a little haircut, some tights that got stuffed with loo roll and a school hairband that was spruced up with some felt all pulled together with a bit of face paint. Hey presto, one zombie and one black witch's cat, not bad for a couple of hours work!

It's good to be back xx

  6. Such fun Halloween costumes!! I know what you mean about so many birthdays at once. Me and my two sisters all have birthdays within a few weeks of each other in the fall. And my husband's family ALL have their birthdays in February. It gets crazy! Well, soon you'll be able to slow down and enjoy the holidays :)
